Steve Jobs Readys IPhone for UK Release

September 18th, 2007 Posted in Mad News | No Comments »

IPhoneSteve Jobs unveiled the IPhone to the UK market ready for its release at the end of October on the 31st.
The IPhone in the USA is sold with a contract on the AT&T network, i always wondered who would be the UK contract winners for this much anticipated phone. The answer is O2, yes this will be locked to the O2 network (of course there will be unlocking options).
In the UK we are all used to getting phones on contract and with this the phones are usually free. Not with the IPhone, it will still cost you £269 for the phone plus the contract fee’s on top!

Ill just get one unlocked thanks :)

Get more traffic with BlogRush

September 17th, 2007 Posted in Internet | No Comments »

blog rush

Do you want more traffic for your blog? Of course you do! The more readers you have on your blog the more money you can make, traffic = money end of story.
BlogRush have developed a new widget that can be added to your blog and shows posts from other blogs that also use the widget.

How it works
BlogRush works just like a banner exchange programme that you usually see for arcade game sites, every time you display the widget you get one of your posts listed on another blog. Lets say you get 1000 page views to your blog per day, you will earn 1000 syndication credits meaning that your headline will be displayed 1000 times across the BlogRush network, basically a 1:1 trade ratio. The more views your blog gets the more exposure you will receive. This also goes 10 levels deep, so if i refer a friend to use BlogRush i will receive some of their generated views and if they refer a friend i will get some of their views! Remember this is 10 levels deep!

Check out my side bar and you will see the widget, clicking on a headline will open up a new browser so users don’t leave your blog, nice! Sign up now, you may aswell it only takes a few minutes and you will start increasing your sites traffic for free :D

Check out the official BlogRush video and see how it works.

What is your Blog or Website’s grade?

September 15th, 2007 Posted in Internet | No Comments »

While reading John Chows blog, he found a neat little site that will grade your blog or website. It calculates inbound links, Page Rank, Technorati Rank, Alexa Rank and the search engine saturation or how many pages show up in Google and Yahoo’s search engine.
John Chow’s blog got a score of 99/100… Wow good going John! To be honest i wasn’t expecting much from MadDump as I’m not a guru on SEO or anything like that but was pleasantly surprised when my site got 65/100, my mission is to try and get this score increased just by doing some simple things like swapping more links etc.
Websitegrader.com is a great tool giving you information about every aspect from an SEO point of view, it even points out the errors and how to correct them!

Website Grade

If you have a blog or website and would like to swap links then post a comment, remember this blog is PR4 ranked by Google so I’m looking for other PR4+ link trades.

5 Spectacular holes!

September 13th, 2007 Posted in Mad News | No Comments »

These are some of the most amazing holes you will find, from a non dirty minded point of view, on our own planet.
I didn’t even know some of these existed until i seen the photographs :-/

Glory Hole - Monticello Dam

This one scares me for some reason, imagine getting sucked in! Anyways a Glory Hole is used on dams when the reservoir gets full and water needs to be drained away.

Glory Hole

The sheer scale of this hole is realised in this shot below. The hole is part of the Monticello dam in California. This Big sucker can drain away nearly 14′400 cubic feet of water every second! :O

Glory Hole

Here is the water being pumped out by gravity at the bottom of the dam. Its just like a big camocarzy slide! Weeeee! Plooop out the bottom… Who wants to go first?

Mirny Diamond Mine

This is a Diamond mine in Siberia and is absolutely massive! Shows how far we as humans will go for precious materials, especially diamonds for the ladies :D
This hole is mesures 1200 meters in diameter and is 525 meters deep…

Diamond Mine

Check out the picture below, the red arrow indicates a large truck inside the mine.

Diamond Mine

The mine has got a no-fly zone across it due to a few helicopter’s getting sucked in! Wow!

Diamond Mine

Bingham Canyon Mine in Utah

Extraction for this mine began in the 1860’s and still continues to this day. The hole is said to be one of the largest man made mines on the planet measuring over 1200 meters deep and over 4000 meters wide! And this is increasing in size all the time due to the on going excavation.

Kimberley big hole in south Africa

Here is another diamond mine in south Africa. It measures just under 1100 meters deep.

This mammoth of a hole brought out 3 tones of diamonds, i wonder who the lucky lady was?

Kimberley Mine

Kimberley must have been the lucky gal :P

Great blue hole in Belize

This amazing phenomenon is the Great blue hole situated 60 miles off the mainland of Belize. 1/4 mile wide and 145 meters deep. The dark water creeps me out but is a very popular diving site for many divers that come from all around the world to dive here.

Drive traffic to your blog or website

September 10th, 2007 Posted in Internet | No Comments »

Generating traffic to your blog or website is the key to success on the Internet. If you don’t have the audience to look at your site then you really don’t have one. John Chow from JohnChow.com gives you some tips on how to drive traffic to your website, i have to say after watching the video i was a bit disappointed as to me he doesn’t really give anything new away. But for people that are completely new to Blogging or running a website the information is very useful indeed and is worth watching.

Check out the video below where John Chow for the second time gets onto The Lab with Leo Laporte. Enjoy this 10 minute video on traffic building :)
